Stephy Mavididi could ditch Leicester in surprise move to league rivals
Stephy Mavididi’s time at Leicester City has become a clear example of how quickly fortunes can shift in football. Once viewed as an exciting signing with an impressive background that included spells at Juventus and Montpellier, the winger arrived with high expectations and the belief he could develop into a key figure at the King Power Stadium.
Instead, his impact has fallen short. The confidence and attacking spark that once made him stand out have struggled to translate to the demands of Premier League football.
Even back in the Championship, he has been unable to consistently rediscover that form, leaving many supporters frustrated by his lack of end product.

Despite this, Mavididi remains part of the squad and an exit is far from guaranteed. In fact, he is one of the few notable players Leicester could realistically keep, largely because his contract runs until 2028, giving the club little immediate pressure to sell.
His relatively low wages reported to be around £10,000 per week also make him an affordable option to retain, reducing the financial urgency to move him on despite inconsistent performances.
Still, transfer talk is beginning to grow. Reports suggest both Watford and Derby County are monitoring his situation. While a switch to Watford may not stir much reaction, a move to Derby would likely anger Leicester fans due to the rivalry between the clubs.
Given that tension, any potential transfer to Derby could turn disappointment into something far more heated, adding a layer of controversy to what has already been an underwhelming spell at Leicester.
