Footballer’s baby news sparks buzz involving manager’s daughter

Oliver Arblaster is preparing to become a father, with the mother being the daughter of his manager, Chris Wilder.

Martha Elizabeth Wilder shared the news on Instagram on Sunday evening, posting a collection of polaroid-style images that included her baby bump, scan photos, and affectionate pictures alongside the 22-year-old midfielder.

She simply captioned the post “+1” with a white heart emoji, which quickly drew a wave of supportive messages from friends and followers.

Details about how long the couple have been together remain unknown, and Wilder has not made any public comment regarding the relationship.

Several Sheffield United teammates, including Femi Seriki and Louie Marsh, offered their congratulations. Meanwhile, Arblaster’s mother appeared to hint at the baby’s gender, writing that she was excited to welcome a grandson.

Arblaster is regarded as one of Sheffield United’s brightest young talents, having progressed through the club’s academy system. He made his Premier League debut during the 2023/24 season and has continued to establish himself in the senior squad, featuring 18 times this campaign.

His progress this season has been affected by recovery from a long-term ACL injury, limiting him largely to appearances from the bench in recent months.

Wilder, a long-standing figure at the club, previously guided Sheffield United from League One to the Premier League. However, a similar rise is not on the cards this season, with the team currently sitting 17th in the Championship, well outside the play-off positions.
