In a noteworthy development, Jason Kelce chose not to engage with reporters in the post-game locker room, stating, “No guys, not today.” He explained his decision, expressing that the moment was too emotionally charged, and there was too much happening at that instant to make a fully informed statement. Kelce emphasized that he was not attempting to be dramatic or prolong the situation, and when the time is right for an official announcement about his future, it will be done in a definitive manner that pays respect to the individuals who played a significant role in his career.

ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter disclosed that Jason Kelce, a six-time All-Pro and potential Hall-of-Famer, conveyed to his Eagles’ teammates after Monday night’s game that he is indeed retiring after 13 years in the NFL. The news followed Kelce’s visible emotional reaction at the end of the Eagles’ 32-9 loss to the Buccaneers. Schefter noted that although Kelce had considered retiring in previous seasons, this time the decision is reported to be genuine.

Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson informed reporters that Kelce had hinted to teammates about his departure after this season. Sources revealed that Kelce had contemplated retiring in previous seasons, according to ESPN.

It’s worth noting that Jason Kelce and his brother Travis Kelce made history as the first siblings to play against each other in the 2023 Super Bowl, as reported by The New York Times.
