Deal breaker!!! After shocking remarks from Ex Canucks defenseman, puts off Trade with Oilers
Tonight marks the beginning of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final, in which the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers will compete for the ultimate trophy in sports for the second year running.
Vasily Podkolzin, a former Canuck and now an Oiler, is one of many former Canucks who will be playing in this year’s Stanley Cup Final. Podkolzin has had a breakout season in Edmonton.
Former Vancouver Canuck Troy Stecher has very high praise for Vasily Podkolzin
Former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Troy Stecher had nothing but praise for former teammate and current Canuck Vasily Podkolzin during his appearance on Donnie & Dhali on Tuesday, the day before the series started.
Stecher, who played nine seasons in the NHL, described Podkolzin as the most dedicated player he has ever had the pleasure of playing with.
Stecher and Podkolzin were both National Hockey League players for the Vancouver Canucks, but they were never teammates because the blueliner left as a free agent the year before Podkolzin arrived from Russia. With Vasily Podkolzin’s trade to the Edmonton Oilers last August, the two will finally get to play together in 2024–25. The trade has been a success for the Oilers, who are within four victories of becoming Canada’s first Stanley Cup winning team since the Montreal Canadiens in 1993.
The Florida Panthers, who include Gustav Forsling, a former Vancouver draftee, and forwards Nate Schmidt and Jonah Gadjovich, two former Canucks, are in their way. If you’re a Canadian resident, you may tune in to Sportsnet and CBC to watch the first game of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final today at 5 pm PT.
