Boston Bruins Host ‘Hockey Hops’ Easter Egg Hunt for Kids—Star Players Hide Golden Pucks for Charity!

The Boston Bruins turned TD Garden into a wonderland of hockey and holiday cheer this Easter weekend, hosting a first-of-its-kind “Hockey Hops” Easter egg hunt for over 1,200 local children. On Saturday morning, Bruins stars like David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and captain Patrice Bergeron traded their sticks for bunny ears, hiding golden hockey pucks across the arena’s ice to raise funds for Boston Children’s Hospital.

The event, dubbed “Hockey Hops,” invited kids aged 3–12 to scour the rink for 500 glittering pucks, each stamped with the Bruins’ spoked-B logo. Every puck found triggered a $100 donation from the team, with the Bruins pledging a minimum of $50,000. By the end of the hunt, fans and families had uncovered all 500 pucks, prompting the organization to double its donation to $100,000. “This is bigger than hockey,” said Marchand, who hoisted a giggling toddler onto his shoulders during the scramble. “Making these kids smile while supporting a lifesaving cause? That’s our ultimate goal.”

Parents raved about the unique experience. “My son hasn’t stopped talking about high-fiving [Charlie] McAvoy,” said Boston resident Maria Torres. “He thinks the ‘golden puck’ is going to save every kid in the hospital.” The Bruins also announced a special Easter Sunday game against the Montreal Canadiens, where players will wear limited-edition “Bunny Black & Gold” jerseys featuring carrot-stick designs. The jerseys will be auctioned post-game, with proceeds benefiting the hospital.

Social media exploded with the hashtag #BruinsEaster, as clips of Pastrnak pretending to “chirp” a 5-year-old hunter (“Hey, that’s *my* puck!”) amassed over 250k views in hours. Even the Easter Bunny made an appearance, dropping the ceremonial first puck while wearing a custom Bruins jersey. With the event trending regionally and donations pouring in, the Bruins proved that hockey and holiday spirit make an unstoppable combo
