Kevin Durant Reacts Strongly to a Fan’s Post About Kyrie Irving
In 2019, Kevin Durant departed the Golden State Warriors—one of the best teams in NBA history—to join the Brooklyn Nets—among the most gifted teams that have never prevailed in a championship struggle.
The future Hall of Famer had no idea that his cross-country journey would not go according to plan, of course.
While playing for the Warriors in the 2019 NBA Finals—a series loss to the Toronto Raptors—Durant tore his Achilles tendon.
The following summer, he joined forces with fellow superstar Kyrie Irving after being traded to the Nets. He had already won four NBA scoring titles.
In January of 2021, the club added former MVP James Harden to their roster through a trade, creating what appeared to be a deadly attacking three.
Brooklyn fans continue to reminisce about the band’s breakup on social media following multiple injuries and elimination from the playoffs.
On Thursday, one Nets fan voiced their disapproval of the team’s handling of Kyrie Irving’s deal, prompting Durant to reply.
“Your words are so moving,” the 36-year-old remarked.
A four-year, $194.2 million agreement was inked by Durant with the Nets in August 2021; however, nobody of his co-stars did the same.
In February 2022, they sent Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers in a deal. Three days later, in February 2023, they sent Irving to the Dallas Mavericks. And three days after Irving, they sent Durant to the Phoenix Suns.

Despite Irving and Luka Doncic guiding the Mavericks to the 2024 NBA Finals—a series defeat at the hands of the Boston Celtics—neither player has won a championship since then.
Durant and Harden have both never advanced past the second round of a tournament, while Harden in particular has never made it past the third round in his professional career.
The Suns are about to release Durant from his contract in the upcoming year.
