WHEN WILL IT BE POSSIBLE TO PURCHASE FANTASTIC IN THE UNITED STATES??!
WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO BUY A FANTIC IN THE USA?
Dear MXperts,
Unfortunately, I do not have the financial means to travel to Europe in order to purchase a Fantic XX125 and have it transported back to my home in the US. Some entrepreneurial dealership in the United States must be peddling illegal Fantics, I suppose.
It goes without saying that the 125cc two-stroke, 250cc two-stroke, 250cc four-stroke, and 450cc four-stroke Fantics, all of which are manufactured by Yamaha, are not allowed to be imported into the United States.
As part of a partnership agreement, Fantic Motor and Yamaha Europe developed motocross variants based on the YZ125, YZ250, YZ250F, and YZ450F.
Yamaha USA is concerned that Fantics, a subsidiary of Yamaha, could cut into Yamaha’s American market share.
The Fantic XX300 project bike was featured in our May issue, and MXA has tested the XX125.
However, these motorcycles were ordered in Europe and sent to SoCal. Fortunately, things are looking up.
Two models, the XE300 two-stroke and the XEF250 four-stroke, will be imported to the USA by Fantic Motor commencing in the summer of 2025.
The company plans to import more models that year.
What are they doing to circumvent Yamaha USA’s ban on Fantics in the US? No brainer there. Electric start, electronic power valve, fuel injection, oil injection, ten traction control modes, two ECU maps, and 300cc two-stroke engine manufactured by Motori Minarelli are the features of the 2025 Fantic XE300 enduro.
However, the images from the Fantic press release show an aluminum frame, similar to the Yamaha YZ250.
Priced at $11,599. When it comes to motocross and cross-country racing, the 2025 Fantic XEF250 is more of a trail bike.
It has an Arrow exhaust system, a 249.6cc liquid-cooled four-stroke engine with electronic fuel injection, and a chromoly perimeter frame.
The engine is six-speed and has a four-stroke design. Priced at $6499.
