KYRIE IRVING’s NEW DEAL!!! as we await Cooper Flagg

In this, our shortest podcast in weeks, Josh and I catch up to cover a ton of ground.

Let us begin by wrapping up the New York Knicks’ chase of Jason Kidd.

The tale officially came to a close shortly after last week’s recording when that news surfaced.

In spite of my repeated assurances that I will not be surprised if the unexpected occurs, that is Kidd’s entire background.
The possibility of a Kyrie Irving extension is another something we discuss at length.

There were a lot of questions from the audience before we went on break, and we answered a lot of them—including some excellent ones that I enjoyed answering.

After the break (at least on the audio streams), Josh launches what may be an off-season campaign: he explains why the Mavericks’ problems with Anthony Davis playing the four-point position are so significant.

I don’t want to rock the boat too much by challenging his position, but it’s important to note that his shooting statistics aren’t great beyond approximately 5 feet.

Josh explains what they have been, we discuss why it is an issue for this particular roster, and we also attempt to break the stalemate at power forward.
Even if AD has obvious aptitude, that’s not where he’s most useful.
Still, he might not be in good enough shape to suit up as Dallas’s five. The rest of the offseason will reveal the outcome of this.
