Ja Morant’s Response to Recent Grizzlies Trade Rumors
On Sunday morning, the Memphis Grizzlies sent guard Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic in exchange for a large package that included Cole Anthony, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, four first-round picks (one protected and three unprotected), and a future pick swap.
There was a lot of talk that the Grizzlies would decide to start over after firing Bane, which prompted the trades of Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant.
Morant spoke on social media to clarify his position on perhaps leaving Memphis after his name surfaced in trade rumors.

Of course, Memphis is located in the 901 area code.
The speculation about Morant’s future with the Grizzlies has apparently reached his ears, and he has made it crystal plain that he has no interest in leaving the place where he began his NBA career.
Memphis is seeing a lot of transformation in 2025 and 2026.
Following the Grizzlies’ decision to move Bane and employ Tuomas Iisalo as head coach, Morant has stated his full commitment to the team and no plans to leave.
This comes after Iisalo’s temporary stay following Taylor Jenkins’ firing.
