From bad to worse: Wrexham suffered two injury setbacks in Millwall 2 – 0 defeat.
Wrexham’s disappointing afternoon against Millwall was made worse by a pair of injury scares as they were beaten 2-0 at home on Saturday, with co-owner Ryan Reynolds in attendance in north Wales.
The Championship play-off contenders drew a blank at home for the first time this season, undone by a Max Cleworth own goal and a late Josh Coburn finish that sealed victory for the visitors.

The result keeps Millwall fifth in the table and within touching distance of the automatic promotion places, now just one point off third. Wrexham remain sixth but trail the Lions by six points in the play-off race.
In addition to the defeat, Phil Parkinson’s side were dealt two fitness blows. Matty James was forced off after 35 minutes, with Liberato Cacace following him down the tunnel shortly after the restart.
Parkinson explained that James was withdrawn after feeling he may have broken a toe in a challenge, admitting the early signs were concerning. Cacace, meanwhile, felt discomfort behind his knee, though the Wrexham boss was still awaiting a full medical update.
Reflecting on the match, Parkinson felt his team were punished for costly errors as their hopes of a fourth successive promotion took a hit.
He praised Millwall’s defensive discipline but admitted mistakes proved decisive, with two moments leading directly to goals. Despite feeling the scoreline did not reflect the balance of play, Parkinson acknowledged Wrexham had let themselves down.
However, he insisted there is still plenty to fight for, stressing that while defeat is difficult to take in the moment, his side remain well placed heading into the run-in.
