By the end of this month, the Seminoles will have brought a quarterback to campus.

With summer quickly approaching, the already oppressive heat is reaching new heights in Tallahassee. The coaching staff at Florida State will be very busy in the coming months. The Seminoles have a lot on their plate with improving their roster and also with expanding #Tribe26 and making connections with incoming classes of recruits. Official visits and numerous on-campus programs will allow FSU to evaluate recruits during the month of June.

Last month, Florida State offered a scholarship to Derrick Baker, a three-star quarterback for the class of 2027. Now, Baker will be coming to town on June 15 for a one-on-one camp with the coaching team to throw for them.
Tennessee, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Auburn, and Alabama are also on his list of schools he will visit. Baker is still in the early stages of his recruiting, but Ohio State, Auburn, Purdue, and other schools have already thrown him an offer.

This off-season, Baker moved from St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) to Milton High School (GA). He completed 8 out of 14 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns as a junior. He also ran ten times for 78 yards and three more touchdowns.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound quarterback is regarded as the No. 408 overall prospect, the No. 29 QB, and the No. 50 recruit in Georgia in the 2027 class according to 247Sports.

Florida State holds four verbal commitments in its 2027 class which ranks No. 1 in the country.
