Minnesota Vikings shows serious worries regarding quarterback JJ McCarthy, Since they turned down free agent QB Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers, a veteran free agent, was turned down by the Minnesota Vikings.
One league source has said that the club is still not satisfied that starting quarterback JJ McCarthy can handle the pressures of the position.
According to Ross Tucker, a former offensive lineman who now works for CBS Sports and Sirius XM, “As much as they’re sold on JJ McCarthy, they weren’t that sold… so [the Vikings] have some doubt,” as reported by Purple Daily online.

Last year, with Sam Darnold at the helm, Minnesota went 14-3.
The Seattle Seahawks looked pleased to turn to the 22-year-old McCarthy after the 27-year-old Pro Bowl selection signed a three-year, $100.5 million contract.
The catch is that there has been no formal promotion of the 2024 NFL Draft’s tenth overall choice to Minnesota’s starting lineup by Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell.
Instead, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah attempted to hold on to Daniel Jones, a 2024 midseason pickup who ended up with the Indianapolis Colts, before dealing for backup Sam Howell from Seattle. “That the Vikings wanted [Sam] Darnold back is irrelevant to what the Vikings say about J.J. McCarthy,” Tucker stated. “And then they wanted Daniel Jones back when they realized they wouldn’t be getting Darnold back.”
