West Brom left with no choice but to sack Eric Ramsay after internal uprising

West Bromwich Albion could be left with little option but to part ways with Eric Ramsay as frustration among supporters continues to grow following another setback.

A 3-1 defeat to Norwich City at Carrow Road saw the Baggies dumped out of the FA Cup, extending Ramsay’s winless run to seven matches since taking charge.

Concerns over performances and playing style, combined with a poor run of results, have fuelled unrest in the stands that now risks escalating further.

Former Albion assistant Mick Brown told Football Insider that Ramsay’s position may soon become untenable if he cannot win over the supporters. His comments come just over a month after Ramsay replaced Ryan Mason, with the club now slipping deeper into a relegation scrap.

Since Ramsay’s appointment, Albion have fallen to 20th in the EFL Championship, sitting only two points above Leicester City in the drop zone.

With just seven points separating 23rd-placed Oxford United from 19th-placed Blackburn Rovers, clubs near the bottom may be tempted to gamble on managerial change in a bid to survive.

Brown warned that regular defeats inevitably bring scrutiny. He highlighted the high expectations at West Brom and acknowledged that fan anger has intensified following their FA Cup exit and slide toward the relegation places.

While he questioned whether the current squad is strong enough, he admitted that responsibility typically lands with the manager.

Ramsay is not alone in facing mounting pressure. Elsewhere in the Championship, Mark Robins has seen his odds of being dismissed by Stoke City shorten amid a downturn in form. The Potters have slipped to 14th, though they remain only five points off the playoff spots.

Meanwhile, Henrik Pedersen is also under scrutiny at Sheffield Wednesday. Following the club’s administration and points deduction, Wednesday sit bottom of the table on -7 points, with relegation looming.
