West Brom dealt fresh survival blow as rivals secure approval for squad changes after £10m winger arrival
One of West Bromwich Albion’s fellow relegation contenders has received approval to alter its registered squad for the remainder of the Championship campaign.
Blackburn Rovers, who are locked in a survival battle alongside Albion, strengthened their options last week with the addition of former England youth international Nathan Redmond.

It has now been confirmed that the Ewood Park side have been granted dispensation to make two changes to their 25-man squad list.
Rovers, currently sitting 19th in the table and level on points with West Brom, have included Redmond among their registered players. They have also made an enforced defensive adjustment due to injuries.
With both Sondre Tronstad and Lewis Miller sidelined, the club has deregistered the pair in order to reinstate George Pratt, who recently returned from a loan spell at Chorley.
EFL regulations permit clubs to apply for amendments to their squad lists before a specified deadline, subject to approval.
Such exceptions are not unprecedented. Last season, Portsmouth—another side involved in a relegation battle with Albion were granted similar permission. Following a knee injury to new signing Ibane Bowat, they removed him from their squad list and replaced him with Colby Bishop.
