Mboumoua is fairly new to college football, as the defensive lineman recently spent his freshman season in 2024 at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Mississippi. Steve Bolo Mboumoua 2024 stats

As mentioned previously, Mboumoua’s 2024 season at Southwest Mississippi Community College was his very first at the collegiate level. Across nine games, the defensive lineman amassed 46 tackles, 4.5 sacks, seven TFL, and three fumble recoveries.

Steve Bolo Mboumoua recruiting ranking

According to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Mboumoua comes to Alabama as a four-star prospect who was considered as the No. 3 overall JUCO player in the nation during the 2025 cycle. Mboumoua also ranked as the nation’s No. 3 overall JUCO defensive lineman in this past year’s recruiting cycle, and had been an Alabama commitment dating back to December of 2023.

Mboumoua was a part of Alabama’s recruiting class of 2024 before he spent a year in junior college, but the Crimson Tide did not sign him during that cycle.
When Mboumoua graduated from Notre Dame de Foy School in Canada, he was the best prospect in the country and a four-star recruit nationally.

He was also ranked 45th among defensive linemen in the cycle.

Steve Bolo Mboumoua 2025 season outlook

Even prior to officially arriving in Tuscaloosa, Mboumoua was one of the more talked about defensive lineman across the fanbase, and honestly, it’s not hard to see why.

At 6-foot-4 and 298 pounds, Mboumoua is a junior college arrival who already has proven experience at the college level, and can win matchups in the trenches with his athleticism and power.
Even in a loaded Alabama interior line group that returns the likes of Tim Keenan III, Mboumoua might just be too-good to the point where Alabama will have no choice but to play the top JUCO prospect early-and-often.

In addition to being one of Alabama’s top interior defensive lineman and a standout early contributor from the 2025 recruiting class, the gifted sophomore is expected to make an immediate impact for the Crimson Tide this season.
