Otega Oweh’s return: Mark Pope describes the phone call in detail.
Summer practices for the Kentucky Wildcats will begin in just a few weeks, so most of the team is already in Lexington.
But before anything else, the Cats are hard at work at our summer camps.
Although the Cats will be welcoming a lot of new faces to Lexington, one key returner is senior guard Otega Oweh.
When news of his return to Lexington spread, the BBN rejoiced, but none seemed more ecstatic than Mark Pope. Oweh seized the opportunity to question Coach Pope about his knowledge of the star guard’s return during this past weekend’s camp.
You will be energized by his response. “I received the call while en route, and I’m still confused about how it happened,” Pope explained. “Coach, let’s do this,” Ortega told me when he called me. “I will return.” “I was surveying the area.
The pilot was almost about to ditch me from the plane, I swear.
It seems like Coach Pope had quite the adventure on that airline flight.

As the show enters its second year of the new era, Oweh’s return is a major boost.
In addition to bringing back a player who was a potential preseason All-American, they also gain an experienced leader who is familiar with the scheme. Definitely going to be an exciting year.
