Impossibility of avoiding Memphis’ involvement in trade talks involving Kevin Durant
Memphis should not sit on its hands and let trade talks involving Kevin Durant die down We will always be happy to have a wing scorer of his quality.

The organization should once again throw their name into the hat for him this summer, since he is expected to be traded again. Although they were only seeded eighth in the Western Conference, Memphis was one of the conference’s top teams for the majority of the year.
Once considered a serious contender, the team’s fortunes took a nosedive in the latter part of the season as a result of a mix of inexperience, injuries, and a coaching change.
That being said, the Grizzlies should look into any and all possibilities that could lead them to the next move.
Their present team’s inability to contend for the championship without further assistance is further demonstrated by their first-round sweep at the hands of the Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
Kevin Durant raises the ceiling of the Grizzlies
Memphis has been missing a wing scorer with scoring potential, despite Ja Morant’s stellar play as the team’s primary scorer. The expectation was that GG Jackson, who showed promise in his freshman year, would keep improving. That was already a lot for a twenty-year-old to handle before he hurt his foot at the start of his second season.
The Grizzlies have struggled to find veterans with experience in their desired position, with the exception of a dependable wing scorer.
Marcus Smart was signed to fill that role, but he was out for a while due to injuries.
The team then traded him to make room for Jaren Jackson Jr.’s contract discussions this offseason. The squad is now faced with a decision: either shuffle things around to accommodate their core trio of Desmond Bane, Jackson Jr., and Morant, or make movements on the perimeter.
Even though he’s 36 years old, two-time NBA champion and former MVP Kevin Durant can still score at a high level. If the Grizzlies were to get him, they would become one of the Western Conference’s top teams.
He is one of the greatest players in league history.
While Durant was playing for the Brooklyn Nets, the Grizzlies made a brief effort to acquire him in the past by giving a player who was not called Morant, Jackson Jr., or Bane. Now that player contracts are in the way of a feasible transaction, the squad will almost surely have to trade one of its three key players.
Despite Durant’s alleged past reluctance to be traded to Memphis, the opportunity to face off against Ja Morant is fascinating. If the Grizzlies want to be legitimate title contenders, they need to try to trade for the most famous player in the league.
